Contemplations

“But Mary treasured all these words and pondered them in her heart.” - Luke 2:19

The original Greek verb for “pondered” is “symballousa,” meaning “to tumble together.” That Mary treasured the Words of the Lord in her heart, and to have formed the Lord in His sacred flesh, is to consecrate herself as a tabernacle, or to contemplate. That she tumbled this treasure again and again, as if flipping through Scripture, displays her active discernment of God’s will for her life.

In a similar fashion, as I turn my gaze upon the mysteries of the life of Christ and increasingly love and follow Him, I will share my contemplations here.
